Nirankaar is Snatam Kaur’s latest album release. It features Snatam’s luminous interpretations of sacred mantras and verses from the Sikh tradition plus a Mantra and Meditation Series created from four of the tracks to facilitate the powerful practice of chanting mantras. Everyone is encouraged to use the tracks daily to bring joy and light into their hearts and homes, especially in these difficult times. Nirankaar was recorded just before the pandemic as a collaboration with producer Ram Dass on piano and vocals, Grecco Buratto, guitar and vocals, and Sukhmani, percussion and vocals. In addition to singing, Snatam also plays harmonium on various tracks.

The title, Nirankaar means “Formless God,” and expresses how the divine often manifests in ways that can't easily be perceived or understood. Like many of us, during the pandemic, Snatam experienced so many shifts, changes, and loss of normalcy. Yet, through the surrendering process, she discovered an incredible amount of inner peace and resilience that mantra can bring, and specifically the mantras on Nirankaar. In the process, Snatam experienced a renewed sense of independence in her spiritual path, an awareness that God is taking care of her and all of us in ways that cannot always be understood, but certainly felt. Four singles from Nirankaar, along with the tracks from Snatam’s Mantra and Meditation Series, are being released weekly, with the entire album coming out on May 13, 2022 on Be Why Music.
